The problem

Jira felt like it was built for a world before AI. Teams wanted issues, docs, and cycles in one place, with an AI assistant that could actually act on them, but nothing on the market was open, extensible, and enterprise-ready at the same time.

Approach

  • Unified issues, cycles, modules, pages, and initiatives on one graph so agents can reason across the whole workspace.
  • Built an AI Assistant surface that can create work items, summarise cycles, and answer questions grounded in wiki pages.
  • Shipped cloud, self-hosted, and air-gapped deploys from the same codebase so regulated customers ship day one.
  • Designed a webhook + REST + MCP-style API so external agents can safely operate on workspace data.

Results

  • Adopted at Sony, Amazon, Dolby, Accenture, and Aramco.
  • Cut cycle-planning time in half for pilot teams via AI-assisted work item creation.
  • Air-gapped edition unlocked customers in defense, gov, and finance that legacy PM tools couldn't serve.
